Active Product Models for Mechatronic Systems

Integrated design processes based on complete product models have turned out to be a key strategy to solve complex engineering problems. The vision behind these processes and models is a clear and straight-forward path from the first idea to the product ready for manufacturing. In this context mechatronic systems offer a specific challenge. They represent multidomain products by integrating mechanic, electronic and data processing elements.
